How to Write a Crypto Resume That Gets Interviews

Your traditional resume won't cut it in Web3. Learn how to showcase on-chain experience, GitHub contributions, and crypto-native skills that hiring managers actually care about.

Why Traditional Resumes Don't Work in Crypto

The crypto industry doesn't care about your Fortune 500 internship (well, not as much). What matters is what you've built, what you understand, and how you've contributed to the ecosystem.

Here's how to write a resume that gets you hired in crypto:

Lead with Your Web3 Experience

Put your crypto-relevant experience front and center. This includes:

  • Smart contracts deployedlink to verified contracts on Etherscan
  • Protocols contributed toopen-source contributions with GitHub links
  • DAOs participated ingovernance proposals, committee roles
  • On-chain activityDeFi usage, NFT projects, protocol testing
  • Showcase Your GitHub

In crypto, your GitHub is your resume. Make sure it shows:

  • Clean, well-documented code
  • Contributions to known protocols
  • Personal projects that demonstrate your skills
  • Regular activity (green squares matter)
  • Include Your Crypto Socials

    Hiring managers will check your:

  • Twitter/XAre you engaged in crypto discourse?
  • DiscordAre you active in protocol communities?
  • Mirror/blogDo you write about crypto topics?
  • ENS nameHaving one shows you're crypto-native
  • Highlight Relevant Skills by Role

    For developers:

  • Solidity, Rust, Cairo, Move
  • ethers.js, viem, wagmi, Hardhat, Foundry
  • EVM architecture, L2s, bridges
  • For non-technical roles:

  • DeFi protocol knowledge (name specific protocols)
  • On-chain analytics tools (Dune, Nansen, Arkham)
  • Community building metrics
  • Token launch experience
  • Quantify Your Impact

Don't just list responsibilities. Quantify results:

    ❌ "Managed community Discord"

✅ "Grew Discord from 2k to 45k members in 6 months, achieving 15% DAU/MAU ratio"

    ❌ "Wrote smart contracts"

✅ "Deployed lending protocol securing $12M TVL with zero security incidents over 18 months"

    Format Tips

  • Keep it to one page (two max for senior roles)
  • Use a clean, modern design — no flashy templates
  • Include links to everything (GitHub, Twitter, deployed contracts)
  • Add a brief intro explaining your crypto journey
  • Template Structure

  • Header — Name, crypto socials, ENS, location
  • Summary — 2-3 sentences on your crypto focus
  • Web3 Experience — Roles with quantified impact
  • Notable Projects — Side projects, hackathon wins, contributions
  • Skills — Technical and domain expertise
  • Education — Degrees plus relevant crypto courses/certifications
